Only the information on the website's home page is a bit inaccurate (by leaving from Amsterdam at 10 one actually gets to Zaanze... Schaans at 11:30 and not noon, and it's possible to take the ferry back at 15:22 and 16:22, but not at 16 as implied). Still, I recommend it.read more

Overall experience was charming and positive because of the nice, pragmatic and relaxed people (husband and wife?) operating the boat. A few improvement tips / suggestions based on my experience... yesterday:- Departing from Amsterdam CS - steiger 14: a sign or logo that the Zaanferry is departing from the pier (steiger 14) would be helpful. Also, a relevant timetable and keeping to the time is important. (On the pier itself it was not clear that we had actually come to the right place. As the ferry was late coming in and the only information available (without a logo) was a winter-schedule (it is now summer) we were not sure if we had come to the right place.- Departing from Hembrug: again, ferry was delayed again and it was tempting to get on the GVB (public transport ferry) that arrived in the meantime instead. We were encouraged by the captain of the GVB ferry to wait if we had already made arrangements to travel with the Zaanferry so decided to wait a few more minutes. (The GVB only charges EUR 2,50 for the trip back to Amsterdam CS vs EUR 5 single trip on Zaanferry). - Ordering ticket online in advance: For the "convenience" of paying up front, the Zaanferry charges an additional 1 Euro. Questionable for whose convenience this is. Especially since they didn't check the tickets and some people didn't have to pay at all because the Zaanferry assumed they had paid online. 😉read more

Leuke vaar tocht Wormeveer naar Amsterdam.Haven gebied in amsterdam was leuk om te zien.Staat weinig informatie waar je moet heen moet naar de boot vanaf station Wormerveer.Fijne stuurman met... veel info over de molens en industrie gebouwen in de zaan.Een paar fatsoenlijke stoelen in de elektrische boot zou fijn zijn ipv keuken stoelen.De website is knudde te veel zoeken geen duidelijk overzicht .Jammer dat er niet meer mensen gebruik van maken een kennis van mij maakte ons attent op de Zaan ferry.read more

Heel leuk om vanaf Centraal Station naar Zaanse Schans te gaan met Zaanferry. We waren met een groep van twaalf. De bemanning was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Bij de overstap in Zaandam (500 ... meter lopen) werd zelfs een auto ingezet voor mijn vader die moeilijk loopt. Prima service!read more

It was a very relaxing way to get back from Zaans Schans to Amsterdam. It is also so convenient that the ferry dock at Zaans Schans is right by the windmills and the dock at Centraal Station is... close to the bus.read more

Het is een veerdienst, maar ik heb het ervaren als een uitje voor een aantrekkelijke ritprijs. Je vaart een uur over de Zaan van Zaandam naar Wormer en ook weer een in een uur retour. Je komt ook... langs de Zaanse Schans met een prachtig zicht op de molens en monumentale gebouwen. Je snapt dan ook direct waarom de Zaanse Schans zo populair is bij de toeristen. Maar ook als hier geborenen is het aan te bevelen deze vaartoer over de Zaan te maken. Want je ziet hier ook heel veel industrieel erfgoed, zoals de fabrieken van Verkade, Lassie en heel veel Chocolade fabrieken. En daarnaast en ook veel nieuwbouw appartementencomplexen voor mensen, die hun mooie plek aan de Zaan hebben gevonden. Gewoon een keer doen, daar zal je geen spijt van krijgen.read more
